Michael Vogel, CEO
Mike Vogel became CEO of Turning Points for Children when the Philadelphia Society for Services (PSSC) to Children merged with The Children’s Aid Society of Pennsylvania in 2008. Since then he has led Turning Points for Children through a period of dramatic growth, most notably in 2014 with the launch of two Community Umbrella Agencies for child welfare services in Philadelphia. Prior to joining PSSC, Mike held numerous leadership positions during a 20 year career with Johnson & Johnson.
David Fair, Deputy CEO
David Fair is a leadership officer with expertise in strategy, corporate and foundation relations and executive management and nonprofit leadership for several government entities in greater Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. David has held the position of Vice President of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and served as Deputy Managing Director, City of Philadelphia prior to joining Turning Points.
Dawn Holden, CFO
Dawn joined Children’s Aid Society of PA as the Chief Administrative Officer in 2003, and in 2008 became CFO of Turning Points for Children. Prior to her work with Turning Points, Dawn served as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and as a corporate consultant for PECO Energy. Dawn is a licensed CPA and has been the recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Nonprofit CFO’s and 40 Under 40 awards.
Ashley Tobin, Director
Ashley is responsible for working with new affiliates and managing external relations. Prior to joining Turning Points she was a consultant at Work Better Consulting LLC. She is experienced in leading nonprofits through the identification and evaluation of opportunities and building relationships and partnerships.
Brenda Rich, Director of Training
A seasoned Licensed Social Worker with close to 40 years of experience in child welfare services, Brenda started her social work career with the InterChurch Child Care Society. Her expertise in social services, trauma awareness, and kinship care has earned Brenda the position in the agency’s leadership team and as the Turning Points’ staff training Facilitator.
Carla Thompson, Program Management Director
Carla Thompson has been a Social Worker for over 20 years working for the protection of children for most of her career. She began her work with Turning Points for Children under the legacy agency Philadelphia Society for Services to Children in 1997. Early in her career, her exemplary professional skills catapulted her into leadership positions within TPFC. Currently, Carla oversees the operations and program development of FAST (Families and Schools Together) and FAWN (Food And Wellness Network). Carla is guiding the programs as they initiate additional components with the goal of providing a comprehensive set of support services for children and their families.
Eartha Holland, Director of Development
Eartha Holland brings to the Turning Points for Children team more than 20 years of sales and development experience. Eartha left a successful career in the casino industry working with high net worth clients, where she was recognized as the company's top producer for a record ten years. She was nominated for the Carl Icahn Community Service Award and received the Carl Icahn Best Team & Best Team Leader Award during her tenure. Eartha has engaged in numerous nonprofit projects including international mission work in Africa and the creation of an annual scholarship that has awarded over $100,000 to area high school students based on academic excellence and need.
Louis GrowMiller, Program Director of Family Finding
Louis is a Licensed Social Worker with nearly two decades of experience working in child welfare ranging from Family Therapy, Discharge Planning, in-home safety driven case management services, and Family Finding. He has been employed with Turning Points for Children since 2009 and has spent most of his time working with the Family Finding program. He currently serves as the Family Finding program director for Philadelphia and Chester County contracts for Turning Points.
